Paying It Forward: Denise's Story

Denise came to Life Forward’s North College Hill Center after finding out she was pregnant. Like most clients, she was “really nervous” at her first appointment, but after talking with her client educator, she felt “welcomed and strengthened.”

Already a mother of three, Denise still wanted to grow as a parent. She attended parenting classes and found them to be helpful and encouraging. “You think you know everything about being a parent, but you can always learn new things.” Through the education she received at Life Forward, she felt better prepared to parent her first three children and her new baby daughter.

This is not the end of the story for Denise’s journey with Life Forward. She wanted to give back to the ministry that had such a great impact on her family. She and her oldest daughter Autumn put their artistic skills to work. They painted a mural on the wall of the classroom where Denise had previously attended parenting classes at our North College Hill Center. Each new class of parents now enjoys a colorful mural filled with symbols of new life: babies, flowers, grass and trees just beginning to bud.

As future Life Forward clients see Denise’s new creation, she hopes that they will know that “God’s really looking out for you.”
