Alexis' Story

When “Alexis” entered the front door of Life Forward’s Clifton Center, she was in tears. She was angry with her boyfriend because he was trying to pressure her to have an abortion. She felt like her life was out of control.

I assured Alexis that she was in a safe place and that she was free to cry as much as she needed to. I also shared with her that she is known and seen by a God who loves her and that no part of this was a surprise to Him. He loves her so much that He would send His son to die for her.

I then asked if I could pray for her and Alexis agreed. Before we prayed, I asked her about her faith. She said, “I don’t have any.” She had attended church in the past, but had never received Christ. I shared the Gospel with her and prayed with her to receive Him as her Savior. She hugged me and began crying again – but this time, they were tears of joy.

Alexis does not have much of a support system. I told her that Life Forward is here to support her along her faith journey as well as her journey as a mother. She accepted a Bible and I gave her some guidance on how to read it. I’m looking forward to my future one-on-one meetings with Alexis for Bible study and discipleship.

Because of your support of Life Forward, Alexis’ life is forever changed. Thank you for your generosity and partnership as we continue to help women and their families make life-affirming decisions through God’s love.

Blessings,
Lawanda, Clifton Center Director
