Emery's Story

When Emery first reached out to Life Forward, she was looking for information about abortion. At the time, she was overwhelmed by her health history and unsure what options she had. Our team prayed over those early text exchanges, trusting God to work even when we might never see the outcome. 

Nearly a year later, Emery walked through our doors again, this time requesting a pregnancy test. What an answer to prayer! Her heart had shifted from fear and uncertainty to anticipation of the possibility of pregnancy. She shared that she was excited about her pregnancy and wanted to carry, even though her boyfriend was pressuring her to end it. He gave her an ultimatum: give him full custody or have an abortion. Emery knew neither option felt right. She admitted she couldn’t go through with ending her pregnancy and feared she would resent him forever if she did. 

During her appointment, her Client Educator talked with her about healthy relationships, parenting, adoption, and the realities of abortion. Emery left feeling calmer and more confident in what she wanted. God also opened the door for a deeper conversation. Emery shared that she felt she had “sinned too much” for God and didn’t believe she could step into a church. She was gently reminded that no one is beyond Jesus’ redemption and that He meets us exactly where we are. Emery accepted prayer and left with renewed hope. As we continued follow up with Emery, she expressed gratitude for continued support, prayer, and a care package. Through it all, we see God’s faithfulness in a story we have been praying over for a long time.
